DANCE STYLES

Students in our Ballet program study the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance) method of Ballet. Ballet is the fundamental key in development of body alignment, technique, musicality and fluidity of movement. Ultimate Dance Company offers both recreational ballet study as well as exam level ballet classes.

Emphasis in our Jazz classes is on technique and choreography. Jazz classes include warm-up, centre exercises, turns, across the floor technique, jumps and combinations. Flexibility, strength and overall coordination are a strong focus in our classes.

Acrobatic dance is the fusion of classic dance technique and the precision and athleticism of acrobatic elements. Acro technique includes balancing, limbering, tumbling and partnering based on flexibility and strength. Ultimate Dance Company offers Acrobatic Arts examinations.

Tap classes are focused on rhythm, style, technique and timing. These high-energy classes are based on developing intricate footwork through across the floor exercises as well as combinations.

Lyrical classes explore the combination of both Ballet and Jazz. The mixture of the two are demonstrated in centre floor, across the floor exercises, combinations and choreography. Emphasis is placed on expressive, fluid movement and the emotional aspects of the music or the lyrics of a song.

A constantly evolving style of movement that is initiated from emotion. Evolving from Modern dance techniques, Contemporary movements are grounded and have athletic approach.

Our Hip Hop classes explore popping and locking, basic to advanced centre floor work, combinations, old school Hip Hop as well as new pop versions.

Our Musical Theatre classes explore the combination of song and dance. These classes are based around some of the more famous and popular musicals and Broadway shows.
